. about

Bio (Short Story)
i'm a completely self-taught artist, illustrator, recycling guru, utter diy-er, peddler of handmade goods and blogger who is completely smitten with creating and living a handmade life. everything on this site is handmade, recycled and made with lots of love and attention to details. my work is light, breezy and like children's fairytales, tends to have a happy ending - although, i'm sometimes partial to creating funny, odd looking characters that tend to stray from the feel of my other work. oh yes, and my name is tracy. nice to have you here and have a lovely visit.

Bio (Long Story)
.made art and crafts as early as i can remember .looked forward to holidays in elementary school because classroom assignments were about doing crafty projects (but don't get me wrong, i was also a studious and stellar student) .received first sewing machine - a used, antique, aqua colored brother - at 13 after aunt encouraged mother to buy one, as the former felt bad for me always sewing pillows and dolls and such by hand .that beautiful old machine lasted well into my college years when it literally blew up .in all of my domestic and foreign education, it never occurred to me to study art in college, though i made many things at this time including clothes for other students .started indie children's publication after college with intent on becoming children's writer but found myself falling crazy in love with drawing and illustrating .years went by and pen turned into paintbrush when i finally realized (after a lifetime of handmakery)that i was an artist .i am also a huge, avid recycler and love finding ways to re.use things .that said everything on this site is recycled or upcycled .i love the following: my family, my friends, laughing, thinking, small & medium sized dogs and all other animals, everything foreign - foreign languages, foreign films, foreign lands and foreign people, senior citizens, learning about anything, cartoons, autumn and all the holidays that follow, non-conformists, friendly, loving, diverse people, shirley bassey, curly hair, compact, cozy living spaces, pretty feet, vintage anything, interior design, my maternal grandmother whom left long before i arrived .thank you so much for visiting my little handmade world.
